ClearBox Rights is an Intellectual Property (IP) Rights Management Company based in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 2010 by music industry veteran John Barker, ClearBox Rights is positioned to offer game-changing alternatives in the areas of managing copyright administration, artist & producer royalties, name & likeness, trademarks, books & photographs, and any other Intellectual Properties that are licensed and generate royalties.

ClearBox Rights represents hundreds of music publishers, estates, and other rights holders by managing their assets through the ever-changing, complex digital and physical world.

ClearBox Rights’ mission is to transform the management of intellectual property for owners and creators through transparent and efficient administration services through its cloud based software solution, Powerights™, and to connect and empower creators and owners directly into the complex digital and physical rights and revenue environment.

John founded ClearBox Rights in 2010. Prior to that, John founded ICG (Integrated Copyright Group) in 1990, he was General Manager of Publishing and Copyrights for The Benson Company (1985-1989), and A&R Director for Word Records (1983-1985). John has led copyright administration companies representing over a thousand publishing catalogs for over 30 years.

He is past President and current board member of the Copyright Society of the South, a member of CMA, Leadership Music 2012, ACM, Copyright Society of the U.S.A., and AIMP. John has been actively involved in copyright legislation efforts and regularly provides comments on related issues for over a decade.
